The 10th annual Love Wins International Film Festival is set to bring a night of recognition, fun and praise to hardworking filmmakers.

The festival was founded in 2014 by award-winning actor, writer, director and Producer Jaret Martino. The Long Island native named the event after his production company, Love Wins Productions. The festival will screen around 14 different films followed by Q&A panels. These films and discussions are said to cover an array topics including women’s empowerment, diversity and inclusion and health and wellness.

Live performances by Bella Noche, Audrie Jones, NYU Entertainment, U Gotta Dance and Cindyrella Events are expected to take place throughout. The festival is partnering with nonprofits such as The Retreat All Against Abuse, HIV Stops With Me and the LGBT Network.

“I am passionate about creating safe spaces that celebrate and amplify voices that are too often silenced,” said Martino in a press release. “I’m proud to be a Long Island native, in the LGBTQIA+ community and have Cherokee Indian bloodlines. The film festival is an exciting event that offers the chance to witness important films on the big screen, have healing conversations, and enjoy live performances, art and music in a beautiful Cinema that aligns with our mission of creating awareness for underrepresented artists. See you on the red carpet! Despite all, love always wins.”

The festival will take place on Saturday, May 4 at the LBGT Network Center in Hauppauge. It will start with the red carpet at 2 p.m. and will wrap up with an awards ceremony ending around 8 p.m. For tickets, click here.
