The CEO of Amityville’s Dominican Village made a comment on Facebook that led to his swift termination.
Under a picture of protestors in Freeport, Paul Wasser, who has served as the CEO for four years, made the suggestion to “Run the dirt down…” referring to the protestors. Dominican Village is a nonprofit independent living and assisted living community ran by the Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville. They made the following statement.
“After learning of a potentially inflammatory and derogatory social media comment made by Paul Wasser, the CEO of Dominican Village, from his private account, the Board of Directors of Dominican Village today has made the decision to terminate his association with Dominican Village, effective immediately.”
Wasser was also removed from the National Center for Assisted Living Board of Directors. Wasser has declined to talk to the media.
